Message From The Bishop
Dear Friends of Catholic Charities Maine, As President of the Board of Directors I am grateful that you have chosen to learn more about Catholic Charities Maine. This website reflects the work of Catholic Charities Maine and our mission, which emphasizes service to those in need of all faiths and beliefs, as well as building a compassionate and just society. At Catholic Charities Maine we are proud to answer Christ’s call to serve our neighbor in need. Thousands of individuals and families across our state are helped in scores of different ways. We are able to provide dental care for children, educational instruction for the blind and visually impaired, food for the hungry, child care for the young, counseling for those with mental illness or substance abuse issues, pregnancy support services, post abortion healing programs and services to the elderly and disabled so that they may remain in their homes for as long as possible. In these critical times it is important that we maintain our charitable organizations with integrity and accountability. I am proud of the Board of Directors, staff and volunteers who work to ensure the highest standard of stewardship for our programs. The staff brings energy, commitment and Christian love to their work while Board members and volunteers graciously share their resources and talents. Together, with your generosity and support, we are able to continue the work of the Church, serving people of all faiths and beliefs, and changing their lives from a path of suffering to a path of hope and healing. Thank you and may God bless you. Sincerely Yours in Christ,
