FUNCTIONAL FAMILY THERAPIST

Catholic Charities Maine St. Michael’s Center, located in Caribou, has a full-time (flexible schedule available/no on call work required) opportunity for a warm and understanding professional, to carry out the clinical duties necessary to strengthen and build positive relationships with children and their families. Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is a research-based, outcome-driven model that has proven to be highly successful. CMSMC provides extensive training within a supportive learning environment directly from FFT, Inc. staff and ongoing weekly and group clinical supervision from a certified FFT Clinical Supervisor. As the program expands, opportunities for advancement to clinical supervisory positions may become available.

Requirements include a minimum of a MSW or equivalent advanced study or a Master’s degree in a related field. ACT TEAM NURSE

Catholic Charities Maine Support & Recovery Services in Portland has a full-time opportunity for an ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) Team Nurse. The successful candidate will provide intensive treatment and support to people with severe and persistent mental illness and will assist with assessments, obtaining services, meeting basic needs, advocacy and counseling, maintain records, and must be able to exercise clinical judgment. The ACT Team Nurse also provides medication services. (Medication services are those intended for the treatment and management of mental illnesses in the context of the ACT service.) Responsibilities for the client group include twenty-four hour, seven-day-per-week coverage shared with other team members. Service provision will include clinically challenging clients with complex behavior. The work is done primarily in clients’ residences, and involves travel and meetings throughout the Greater Portland area. Shall be a graduate of an accredited nursing program and licensed as a registered professional nurse by the Maine State Board of Nursing, and be certified or eligible for certification at the MHRT/C level. Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with people with severe and persistent mental illness, at least one of which is in a community setting. Must be on-site for all hours child attends the program. HOUSING OUTREACH CASE MANAGER

Catholic Charities Maine Adult Mental Health Services in Fairfield (position will be deployed out of Lewiston/Auburn) has a full-time opportunity for the professional person responsible to coordinate resources, and provide housing assistance to targeted homeless clients with mental illness or co-occurring disorders in Central Maine. The successful applicant will be responsible for the identification of clients, assessment of needs, planning, linking to resources, monitoring and evaluation of services and supports needed by identified homeless clients. The goal of this position is to provide awareness of the availability of local services to homeless clients. This position will require driving and work in an office setting. Shall have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a closely related field or equivalent experience and/or training. Master’s level social work training preferred. Must be certified or eligible for certification as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician/Community (MHRT/C). Licensure as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) is desirable. The successful candidate shall have a minimum of two(2) years direct related experience, and will have demonstrated experience serving the homeless population, have a thorough knowledge of the issues related to homelessness, co-occurring disorders, trauma, criminal justice issues and a thorough knowledge of how case management can facilitate and empower consumers. RESIDENTIAL ADVISOR

Catholic Charities Maine Christopher Home in Caribou has a full-time opportunity for a paraprofessional person to provide care for adolescent youths in a home setting and works under the direction of the Lead Residential Advisor. Shall have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in social services, mental health, home management, education, or a closely related field, equivalent experience and/or training, or qualify as an Other Qualified Mental Health Professional: either a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, child development, special education, rehabilitation, sociology, or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree in another field and advanced training in one or more of the above disciplines, or have education, training, and experience which qualifies them to perform certain mental health functions; persons hired under this provision will need to be certified by the Muskie Institute before providing services in the program. THERAPEUTIC FOSTER PARENTS

Catholic Charities Maine Therapeutic Foster Care Program is seeking Foster Parents to provide care for children with special needs (emotional, behavioral, developmental, and learning disabilities) as therapeutic foster parents and as therapeutic respite care providers.

§ Current or previously licensed parents are preferred, although new families are always welcome and will be guided through the process of becoming licensed.

§ We provide a high quality program, using a supportive team approach. Training, supervision, and individualized support plans are provided and every foster family has their own CCM Foster Family Consultant who will meet with them weekly and whenever needed to provide support and assistance.
