ASPIREThe ASPIRE (Additional Support for People In Retraining and Employment) Placement Coordinator assists the Department of Health & Human Services Bureau of Income Family Independence meet their primary goal of assisting TANF participants to obtain the services their families need in order to become self supporting. TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) is a federal government program that helps families with children in economic need. The ASPIRE-TANF program is the education, training and work program in which most parents receiving TANF are required to participate. It is run by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). People in ASPIRE are eligible for help with transportation, child care and other services necessary to help them participate.
