Greater Bath Elder Outreach Network

No doubt about it, there is no place like home, and most people prefer to age right there.

The Greater Bath Elder Outreach Network provides free services to elderly individuals living in Sagadahoc county and the greater Brunswick area, to help them to remain independent in their homes for as long as possible.

This volunteer-based program locates and contacts vulnerable older adults who are isolated and/or who live alone, to create socialization opportunities, and to link them to needed resources such as long-term care supports. In addition, the program helps create tailored supports to meet the needs of people who may not qualify for publicly funded programs.

How It Works

After receiving and assessing a referral the Greater Bath Elder Outreach Network Coordinator matches the client with a volunteer. Matches are based on the client’s need for service and the volunteer’s availability for the service he or she has elected to provide.

Who Does It

Screened and trained volunteers, depending on their individual availability, donate an hour or two of service to elderly and disabled people of all faiths, every week or every other week. Our dedicated volunteers also come from all faiths, all age groups and all walks of life.

Funding

The Greater Bath Elder Outreach Network is funded by the United Way of Mid-Coast Maine and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, along with grants and donations from community organizations.
