Jessie Albert Orthodontic ServicesStraight teeth aren’t just good for your self-esteem, they play an important role in your overall health as well

It is estimated that approximately 50% of children need some kind of corrective orthodontic treatment, such as braces. Luckily, treatments have never been easier or more effective—and you’ll find them all right here at Jessie Albert, including growth appliances and braces.

While the American Association of Orthodontists recommends seeing an orthodontist by age 7, it is never too late to create the smile you deserve. In fact, today adults account for nearly 30% of all orthodontic patients!

Concerned about your child’s teeth? Here are some signs “the bite is not right.”

The technical term for crooked, crowded, or protruding teeth is “malocclusion,” which means “bad bite.” Even teeth that look straight may be hiding a problem bite.

Here are some signs to look for:

  • Early or late loss of baby teeth
  • Difficulty in chewing or biting
  • Breathing through the mouth
  • Thumb-sucking
  • Crowded, misplaced or blocked out teeth
  • Jaws that are too far forward or back
  • Biting the cheek or biting into the roof of the mouth
  • Protruding teeth
  • Upper or lower teeth that don’t meet, or meet improperly
  • An unbalanced facial appearance
  • Grinding or clenching of teeth

Please do not hesitate to call us if you have any questions or concerns.
