Type of Volunteer: second semester sophomores, rising juniors and rising seniors interested in marketing, public relations, communications, desiring hands-on experience for academic credit or career exploration., or a general volunteer for both the Marketing, Communications and Development departments (does not have to be in school)

Availability/Time Commitment: We seek one intern per semester or summer: September – December; January – May; June-August, for 12 consecutive weeks during the time period/semester selected - or as the volunteer has available for the general volunteer.

Scheduling is flexible, but we are looking for someone who can reliably serve 16-24+hours/week for a minimum of 12 weeks. For those seeking academic credit, we can offer various options to fulfill the requirements of the college. In general, however, we are most interested in a consistent commitment of enough hours to make the internship valuable to both the organization and the student.

Position description: This is an unpaid internship. The MarComm Intern will work as a member of the Communications-Development Department to assist with brochure and press release writing, event planning and execution, video production, marketing plan development and implementation for 20+ CCM social services programs.

Impact of opportunity: The MarComm Intern will support the mission of Catholic Charities Maine by helping to create and execute effective communications programs to have impact in the communities we serve – low income seniors, children with visual impairments, refugees and immigrants, low income families seeking child care, those seeking mental health and substance abuse services, those seeking low cost dental and orthodontic services, and others.

The intern will gain knowledge real-world experience of working in a fast-paced, deadline dependent environment at mirrors an in-house communications agency by meeting the marketing requirements of 20 + social services programs

Qualifications & Skills Required:

Training Offered: Catholic Charities Maine Volunteer Orientation & training, strong day-to-day, on-going supervisory support on a per-project basis by a staff of skills marketing communications and creative specialists.
