Will you answer God’s call to care for our priests in their golden years?

As an Agape Aide you can help a retired priest in our parish age in place with dignity and the peace of mind of being able to live independently in their home.

What is an Agape Aide?

An Agape Aide is a paid, hourly position providing general homemaker services to retired priests in the community.

What does an Agape Aide do?

While every priests’ needs are a little different, as an Agape Aide, you may assist with household tasks such as laundry, house cleaning, grocery shopping, meal preparation, errands, or transportation to medical appointments. You will NOT be expected to provide any medical or more advanced personal care, such as bathing. The average time commitment is three hours a week but will ultimately depend on a priest’s individual needs.

Agape Aides must have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone to record hours worked electronically.

All Aides must complete a background check in accordance with Catholic Charities Maine hiring practices. Upon hiring, you will receive training and be assigned a Supervisor to assist you in your new role.

We are committed to the health and safety of our employees and those in their care. Personal protective equipment is provided and CDC guidelines are strictly followed, including practicing social distancing while still providing much needed care to priests in our communities.
