Catholic Charities Maine Remembers Pat Collins, former Board Chair and tireless advocate for Maine’s most vulnerable

March 6, 2024

Portland, ME – Catholic Charities Maine’s Board and Staff mourn the loss of Pat Collins, a former Board Chair, who passed away yesterday at the age of 96.

Collins served on the Catholic Charities Maine board for eight years and was Chair from 2002-2004. Her commitment to our mission and passion for caring for the people of Maine inspires all of us at Catholic Charities to this day.

“Pat had an incredibly generous spirit, and she shared that with many organizations here in Maine,” notes Steve Letourneau, CEO. “We were fortunate for the time and service she gave to Catholic Charities Maine. She held a deep and abiding faith that we were blessed to witness as she guided our work serving the most vulnerable of our neighbors,” said Letourneau.

While she may have spent her Maine years in Caribou, her impact extends well-beyond the County in all the lives she touched through her professional and personal service to others.

Knowing family always came first for Pat, the Catholic Charities Maine family extends our deepest condolences to her six children, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren who we hope take comfort in knowing that she leaves a legacy of care and compassion for the people of Maine.
