Position description: Do you like meeting new people? Do you want to give back to your community? Are you a frugal, thrifty Mainer? Do you stop for yard sales? Do you stop for yard sales? Come work alongside our Threads of Hope staff in Sanford to build our inventory for resale. Put donated items to good use. Threads of Hope is a thrift store with a mission the help fund Catholic Charities Maine and the programs that help members of our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept & sort donated items from members of the public.
- Identify and maximize higher quality & higher value items.
- Clean and prepare items for resale.
- Help organize stock inventory.
- The Donations Assistant helps keep the local circular economy moving and items out of landfills. Your work will give the community affordable options and support local business. Proceeds fund services that assist your neighbors.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods and lift 15 lbs.
- Willing to handle and clean donated items.
- Able to lift and sort.
- Honest, trustworthy and dependable
Training Offered: On-the-job training by supervisor
- Time Commitment/Schedule: We are looking for assistants during donations hours: from 9:00 AM to 2PM, Monday through Friday; variable hours per week; we are flexible.
