Please help us at our "Put Children First' fundraiser on Monday, Sept. 21st, 2020. Forty volunteers needed on fundraising day, to help as a "car-hop" refreshment helper, bag valets, hole watcher, registration check in, raffle ticket sellers, decorating and set up help.
Thank you so much for caring - this will help us fundraise extra scholarship funds for parents and families who can not afford childcare, while they are at work, out sick, or at school to learn a trade/skills. It is so very helpful to our daycare families and will help them with their essential needs for childcare.
When you support our Golf Classic this year, you will be supporting kids in our community in a whole new way. This year, our goal is to raise $65,000 for the Put Children First Scholarship Fund – a fund that supports the cost of child care for low income working families. Without this vital program, single parents and struggling families cannot break the cycle of poverty that strains families and may create living conditions that contribute to child neglect and abuse.
In Maine, the average annual cost of child care for an infant represents over 70% of a minimum wage, full-time job for a single mother. That leaves very little left over for housing, let alone grocery shopping or gas for the car!. Please help them by supporting our fundraiser. Groups or individuals, are welcome to help. All welcome. One hour shifts, or stay all day 9 to 5.
Please call Catholic Charities Maine at 207-245-8094, if you are interested in helping to volunteer for a shift. Also, if you fill out this application, please list what opportunity you would like to help with - and we will contact you right away! Thank you.
